Lodi Paul Ingha - Motion and Animation

This is the trailer/teaser of my short film titled The Last Train, which has so far won seven local and international awards.

This project is based on an academic study I conducted to demonstrate how animation as a genre can be used to portray the performance of African oral literature. It was an attempt at demonstrating the extent to which animation can be used to visualise a traditional tale while also including essential semiotic elements of the oral performance, which was captured in Sankuru district, in the central Democratic Republic of Congo, where I am from and where I conducted my field research.

This is a reel of selected animation/motion graphics I created in 2023 for the Words Fly Under Night Skies show at the Franschhoek Literary Festival with the original sound I composed for the event.

Walking Through

This is a tribute to my grandmothers who used to tell me stories around a charcoal stoves when I was a child. That's how my passion for storytelling was born.

A music video of my song Hirondelle which I co-directed and edited. The drawings were produced in 2015 by 3rd-year graphic design students at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) where I was a part-time lecturer.
